Summary
Abby Brown was an early settler of Chicago and Evanston. She was active in temperance work and in First Methodist Church. She was on the board of North Western Female College and was a founder of Evanston College for Ladies and was on the Board of Trustees. Other organizations she was active in were the Woman’s Christian Temperance Union, the Chicago Home for the Friendless, and the Woman’s Foreign Missionary Society.
