Omega Starr married William T. Starr, a teacher and author as well as a professor at Northwestern University, in 1934. She was active in Evanston with making it a more beautiful and clean place to live. She became the chairmen of the Evanston Clean-Up Committee and the president of the EL Parks Association. She was the motivating force behind the association, which was a citizens group formed to clean up the city’s public transit areas. Starr also helped get a mural erected and painted at the Benson and Davis bus stops.
