Anne Emery (1907-1987) was not only a prolific author of children’s books, but a teacher for ten years at Haven and Orrington schools, a visiting lecturer at Medill School of Journalism, and a mother of five. She was an active member of the Evanston community as the first president of the Evanston Elementary Teachers’ Club, part of the Society of Midland Authors, a member of Theta Sigma Phi, and the Authors League.

Authored more than 35 books for children and adolescents with a total of 45 published books.
