Summary

Ruth Anderson Erikson was active in community service and remained a philanthropist her whole life. She was a member and president of the Woman’s Club of Evanston, as well as being a trustee for the Evanston Historical Society and First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Northwestern Associate Alumni Board, the Evanston Missionary Union, the Evanston Republican Women’s Club, and the Evanston League of Woman Voters. As a young woman, during WWI, she served in the Women’s Land Army, and during WWII she volunteered as a Red Cross Gray Lady. She was the recipient of the Northwestern Service Award in 1955.
