Physician, Gynecologist, professor of Gynecology at IL College of Medicine and Rush Medical School A pioneer among women doctors. Advocate of better health and medical practicies and of recognition of women in her profession. She was the first woman in the midwest to be made a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, at the time one of only ten in the nation. A member of St. Francis Hospital’s first staff and served it as a member of the executive committee. She served continuously on staff for many years filling the offices of secretary and vice-president. In 1937 she became the first woman president of the staff. She was a member of the surgical, consulting and attending staff of Cook County Hospital where she also served her internship. She received a 50 year certificate in recognition of long service by the Evanston Branch of the Chicago Medical Society in 1949.
