Eloise Jones grew up in Sheboygan, Wisconsin and came to Evanston in 1941 to attend Northwestern University. A talented singer and actress from an early age, Jones found her calling in Chicago radio in its heyday in the 1940s. She starred in many radio dramas and had her own twice-daily radio show. Jones was also a pioneer in early television and did many commercials and voice-overs. Some of her television shows include leading roles on The Guiding Light, Right to Happiness, Author’s Playhouse, The Bartons, Modern Homemaker and The Breakfast Club. Jones was also active in many Evanston organizations including the Guild of the Evanston Historical Society, the Evanston Preservation League, and the University Guild.
