Summary
Maurine Miller served as a Women’s Air Service Pilot in WWII. She received her training at the Civilian Pilot Training program at Northwestern University and at the WASP training at Avenger Field in Sweetwater, Texas. She graduated from the WASP training on May 23, 1944. She served in the 3rd Ferrying Squadron based at Romulus, Michigan. She finished her military service on December 28, 1945. She married John G. Orr on June 18, 1946. John Orr was an officer in the naval reserve. They met while in school at Northwestern.
